The ICSC Observatory has published the results of the research “Smart Cities 2035: Four Scenarios on how emerging technologies will shape our society.”

The research falls within the field of Future Studies and was carried out in collaboration with the futurists of Futures Platform, who co-facilitated the development of four possible future scenarios exploring the prospects of data usage and protection in Italian Smart Sities. Each of the four scenarios has been given an evocative title:

• Scenario 1: 1984
• Scenario 2: Shiny Happy People?
• Scenario 3: Middle Ages
• Scenario 4: Land of Hope

The report also presents valuable strategic insights and open questions, serving as points of reflection for industry professionals and academic experts.
